The effects of Service Orientation on Turnover Intention of Employees in Nursing Care Institution - Mediated by Job Satisfaction and Service Commitment -

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of service orientation on turnover intention with making job satisfaction, service orientation as parameters targeting 211 employees in Nursing Care Institution in Chungcheongbuk-do, Korea. The data collected was conducted by correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, path analysis. First, as a result of correlation analysis, turnover intention and service orientation(r=-.231), job satisfaction(r=-.616), service commitment(r=-.482) were verified with the negative(-) relationship. Second, as a result of multiple regression analysis, job satisfaction(¥â=-.509) and service commitment(¥â=-.334) had a negative influence on turnover intention. Third, as a result of path analysis, service orientation was a fully mediated effect to turnover intention, the indirect effect mediated as job satisfaction(service orientation¡æjob satisfaction¡æ turnover intention) was -.18, the indirect effect mediated as service commitment(service orientation¡æservice commitment¡æturnover intention) was -.10, the indirect effect mediated as job satisfaction, service commitment(service orientation¡æjob satisfaction¡æservice commitment¡æturnover intention) was -.02. Therefore, Service orientation, job satisfaction and service commitment should be improved to alleviate turnover intention of employees in Nursing Care Institution.
